اللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أعُوذُ بِكَ مِن شَرِّ الأعْمَيَيْنِ السَِّيلِ والبَعيرِ الصَّؤُولِ. اللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أسْأَلْكَ الصِّحَّةَ والعِفَّةَ والأمَانَةَ وحُسْنَ الخُلُقِ والرِّضَا بالقَدَرِ. اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الحَمْدُ شُكْراً ولَكَ المَنُّ فَضْلاً

Prophet's Guidance on Extinguishing the FIRE

فصل‏:‏ في هديه ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ في علاج داء الحريق وإطفائه
يذكر عن عمرو بن شعيب عن أبيه عن جده قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ‏:‏ ‏(‏إذا رأيتم الحريق فكبروا، فإن التكبير يطفئه‏)‏‏.‏ لما كان الحريق سببه النار، وهي مادة الشيطان التي خلق منها، وكان فيه من الفساد العام ما يناسب الشيطان بمادته وفعله، كان للشيطان إعانة عليه، وتنفيذ له، وكانت النار تطلب بطبعها العلو والفساد، وهذان الأمران، وهما العلو في الأرض والفساد هما هدي الشيطان، وإليهما يدعو، وبهما يهلك بني آدم، فالنار والشيطان كل منهما يريد العلو في الأرض والفساد، وكبرياء الرب ـ عز وجل ـ تقمع الشيطان وفعله‏.‏ ولهذا كان تكبير الله ـ عز وجل ـ له أثر في إطفاء الحريق، فإن كبرياء الله ـ عز وجل ـ لا يقوم لها شيء، فإذا كبر المسلم ربه، أثر تكبيره في خمود النار وخمود الشيطان التي هي مادته، فيطفئ الحريق، وقد جربنا نحن وغيرنا هذا، فوجدناه كذلك، والله أعلم‏.‏

Prophet’s Guidance for Treating Fires and Extinguishing Them

Ibn al-Qayyim wrote : It is narrated from ‘Amr ibn Shu‘ayb, from his father, from his grandfather, who said that the Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “When you see a fire, say ‘Allahu Akbar’ (Allah is the Greatest), for indeed saying TAKBEER~‘Allahu Akbar’ extinguishes it.”

Since fire is fueled by flames, which are the essence of Sheytaan who was created from it, and fire spreads corruption that aligns with the nature and actions of Sheytaan (Sheytaan has a role in aiding and empowering it). Fire, by its nature, seeks domination and destruction, and these two characteristics...domination (arrogance) on Earth and corruption are the ways of Sheytaan (Satan), to which he invites and by which he destroys the children of Adam. Fire and Sheytaan both seek domination on Earth and corruption. But the Majesty of the Lord; The Exalted and Glorious is what subdues Sheytaan and his actions.

For this reason, saying "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest) has an impact on extinguishing fire, as the Majesty of Allah. The Exalted and Glorious is unmatched by anything. So, when a Muslim exalts his Lord, his declaration of Allah's greatness has an effect in calming the fire and the Sheytaan that fuels it, thus extinguishing the blaze. This has been tested by us and others, and we found it to be effective. And Allah knows the best.
